On the other hand, Manny Pacquiao is a Filipino professional boxer. He was born last December 17, 2009 in General Santos City, Philippines. He is a former champion to 4 different divisions which are WBC Lightweight world champion, WBC Super Featherweight world champion, IBF Super Bantamweight world champion and WBC Flyweight world champion. Manny Pacquiao also held and recognized by Ring Magazine Titles to three different divisions. And with all of his achievements, Manny became the first Filipino and Asian boxer to win 5 world titles in 5 different weight divisions. He was rated by Ring Magazine as the number one pound-for-pound boxer in the world. He is also the first boxer to win a lineal championship in four different weight classes. Last Friday September 4, 2009, Manny Pacquiao announced that Baguio will be his official training camp for the eight weeks training in preparation for the Pacquiao vs Cotto fight this coming November 14, 2009. Freddie Roach who is Pacquiao’s coach will have to fly to the Philippines from U.S to prepare him for the fight which he referred as Manny’s “toughest fight” to date.
Roach was disappointed about Pacman’s decision choosing his country as his training ground for the fight. He said that there are too many distractions that would hinder his concentrations unlike if he would be at the Wild Card gym in California where they can strictly monitor his daily activities. But according to Manny Pacquiao, he is different compare to other boxers when it comes to training. He wants to punish his body and he knows deep within the right time to start his training.
Manny Pacquiao expects to start his training by middle of September after his return from a five-city publicity tour for his fight against Miguel Cotto. He said that hopefully Roach is already in the Philippines when he arrives. While his assistant trainer Buboy Fernandez has already set the training camp. He will them resumes training in U.S three weeks before the fight. According to Pacquiao he knows how Cotto fights inside the ring and he will never take the fight that easy.

Kieth Kizer from Nevada State Atheletic Commission executive director said that the fight has to be in 20-foot ring and that nobody has asked for a 24-foot ring in the said fight. Also Bob Arum, the promoter of both fighter speak up regarding this issue. He said that he doesn’t know where the rumors came from and that it’s not really true because in the state of Nevada, fights are held inside a 20-foot ring.
