Pacquiao a Tough Fight For Mayweather, Says Wright

Former junior middleweight champion Winky Wright has become a believer. After picking Oscar De La Hoya and Miguel Cotto to beat Pacquiao, and watching Pacquiao batter both fighters – Wright is no longer picking against the Filipino icon. Wright admits to Michael Marley of The Examiner how wrong he was by picking Cotto to knock Pacquiao out.
“Oh man, I got that one wrong, I really did,” Wright said. “I don’t know if he can beat Floyd Mayweather but I do know one thing, I won’t bet against Pacquiao. I thought Cotto would stop Pacquiao because of his physical strength. I bet against him when he fought Oscar de la Hoya. Like I say, I don’t know if he will beat Mayweather but I do know this, it won’t be any walkover for Floyd.”
Recently Leonard Ellerbe, CEO for Mayweather Promotions, went on the record to state that Pacquiao will be one of the easiest fights in Mayweather’s career. Wright is not in agreement. He doesn’t know if Pacquiao can beat Mayweather – but he predicts a very tough fight for Floyd.
“It’s no easy fight for Floyd. It’s amazing what this guy does, he started out so small but he punches very strong. And he and Freddie (Roach), they always have a game plan and they always stick to that game plan . This guy is a great little fighter,” Wright said.
