Former heavyweight champion Michael Moorer had nothing but praise for WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao. For a little while, Moorer worked as an assistant to Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach. Moorer spoke with Michael Marley to clear his name and squash any rumors that he informed Mayweather’s camp that Pacquiao was using performance enhancing drugs, which caused the entire “blood test” saga that eventually killed the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. Moorer told his close friend and former trainer Teddy Atlas that Pacquiao is a beast in the gym.
“I spoke to Teddy the other day,” Moorer said. “and I told him that Manny Pacquiao is clean, that he trains like an animal like I did when I was fighting and that he trains so hard that the training is hard but the fights become easy. Manny loves to train, Manny loves boxing. It’s nothing for Manny to get on the pads and go 26 rounds nonstop.”

Moorer is a little upset that his name became involved. He is not exactly sure who mentioned his name but he thinks someone in Mayweather’s camp may have created the story.
