NEW YORK — Junior middleweight champ Yuri Foreman says he won’t let anything distract him from his fight against Miguel Cotto on Saturday night.

That’s not necessarily as easy as it sounds.

It will be the first fight at the new Yankee Stadium, headline a card televised by HBO, and come just hours after the end of the Sabbath. After all, Foreman is also an aspiring rabbi.

His story has captured the imagination of thousands of people, but Foreman realizes the story won’t have much of an ending if he doesn’t come prepared to fight.

Cotto is a former titleholder who should give Foreman the toughest fight of his undefeated career, even without any of the distractions.
